In March 2015, the Center for Appalachian Studies at Appalachian State University wrapped up a year-long survey of college students from across the Appalachian Region. Research was conducted between 2014-15 with support from the Appalachian Regional Commission. The goal of this project was to ask college students in Appalachia to take the lead in deciding how to build a sustainable future for the region, including student perspectives on the region's outstanding assets, needs, and career options.
